Dept. of Sanskrit & SDHDR &T Center along with the students paid floral tributes to “VEER BANDAA BAIRAGI” (वीर बन्दा बैरागी) on his BIRTH ANNIVERSARY (16 October, 1670) today. Dr. Gaurav Sharma presided over the function and gave a brief account of Bairagi sect along with wars fought by Banda Bairagi. Sh. Anil mittal also briefed students about the sacrifice made by Banda Bairagi without being attached to his body in true bairagi spirit. A poem written by Tagore in honour of Banda Bairagi with a war cry Alakh Niranjan was recited by student. It was also discussed how Banda Bairagi reached ShriKhanda (near Sonipat) & stayed at Bairagi Matha , organized army of local bairagis first and then marched on to punish those cruel muslims rulers who took lives of four sons of great guru Gobind Singh ji.
