(Under VedaVyaas Restructuring Sanskrit Scheme) Dept of Sanskrit, Main Library & SDHDR&T Center of S. D. College, Ambala Cantt organized a national webinar cum open house discussion on the topic – “DECODING PROBLEMS & ISSUES OF KNOWLEDGE & KNOWING” ज्ञान एवों ज्ञान-प्रष्टिया की समस्याओों एवों ष्टववेच्य-ष्टवषय ों का ष्टनष्कू टन in which 29 scholars shared their perspective, understanding, views, opinions & scholarship on different aspects of the topic. Dept of Sanskrit opened the discussion by sharing four short stories related to complexity of knowledge concept and pointed out that as a human being & particularly belonging to the Rishi tradition of Bharat, it becomes first and foremost Dharma & Karma to Know Knowledge & then shared a PPT on the issue of individual knowledge & mutual knowledge along with it raised multiple questions, such as – Nature of knowledge and what knowledge means in arts, science, social sc? How issues of language, belief & knowledge need to be explored & understood? What knowledge means to you and how much knowledge you have or what knowledge means to different people? How much knowledge you have about infinity or non- existence. Prof (Dr.) Rajinder Prasad Sharma, Former Head , Dept of Philosophy , University of Rajasthan, Jaipur & Prof (Dr. ) Avinash Kumar Shrivastav, Former head, Dept of Philosophy, Nanalda University, Bihar brilliantly handled the questions in a scholarly manner and gave deep insights into the knowledge concept & different processes in western & Indian tradition of knowledge by asserting truthfulness & newness as essential nature of knowledge. Dr. Sushma Mehta, Dr Sainath Shanbhag, Dr. Anand Gurhye, Dr Chanchal Sharma, Dr. Narinder Dutt, Prof Loveleen Grover, Prof Meenakshi Sharma, Dr. Anita Jain, Dr. Anita , Dr. Pushpa, Dr. Geeta Mehta, Dr. Radhika Pancholi, Dr. Subhashini Barik & others shared their understanding & experience of knowledge.
